Keep going, just keep going...almost there- oh drat! Yet another dead end?!

The blonde girl tossed her hair aside from her face, peering down to what seemed to be a blank corridor- a blankly dismal one, at that too. So far, due to the lack in teachers so it appeared, practically everywhere had been empty, lights out, ending up with the halls being completely swallowed by darkness, with merely a few open windows to provide light.

Maybe I'm late for lessons? Perhaps that's the reason as to nobody being around? Lena thought to herself.

Up until this point, she'd only made contact with the receptionist, who gave directions to her dormitory... and even that was a bit of a disaster. After all, Lena wasn't a particularly sociable person and tended to mind her own business, which resulted in her getting completely tongue-tied when speaking to the receptionist upon her arrival. After that, she'd dumped her stuff in the room, and sought the oppurtune moment to explore, leading her to where she was now.

Passing all the rooms which held absolutely no interest to her, she had already explored half the school.

The cafeteria- I'm not hungry...the Gymnasium- since when have I enjoyed sport that much?

Finally she stopped. A large oak door embraced her, on it was emblazened in large gold letters 'Library' at the top. This was more like it...

Opening the door, she peeked her head inside. "Hellooooo? Anybody in here?" she softly cooed.

Suki had found her way into the libaray at some point or another. The school was huge and easy to get lost in. In fact she didn't even know how she made it to the libaray in the first place. But she was here, and not alone anymore. A girl had walked into the room. She looked just as lost as Suki was.

"I'm here..." Suki replied quietly. She didn't want to bring too much attention to herself. She didn't talk with people too well and she had yet to find someone to help her find any of her classes.

Since Suki had said something she had to talk to the girl, but didn't know what to say. She told the girl she was here but after that nothing came to mind as what do to if she came inside and talk with her. I could tell her I'm leaving, She thought to herself. Or maybe I should just try and sneek off and let her think it was a ghost. But that would be rude...

"I'm here..." Another voice spoke from the other side of the room, sounding just as nervous as Lena did. Sheepishly, Lena stepped into the room, quietly closing the door behind her. Taking in the surroundings, her eyes flickered from each of the bookcases filled with books, looking for the source of the noise.

It was definately a girl's voice... she noted to herself in her head.

Finally, her eyes found the person. The first thing she seemed to notice was the girl's hair, as to Lena, it was such a pretty colour...it wasn't quite brown, neither red- she liked that.

As to not seem like she was staring too much, to give a bad impression, she piped up immediately, "Hi, I-I'm um...uh...L-L-Lena."

In her mind, she cursed herself for her inability to string a mere sentence together.

Suki stood up and tried to smile at her. She didn't want to make a bad impression on the new girl that walked in and not saying anything now would really do that. "Hi Lena...I'm Suki. It's nice to meet you here."

She offered Lena her hand. Suki didn't know what do to since she never really had a friend in any other school. "I'm not really sure what to say to you..." She continued. "I've never really had a friend so..."

She looked away feeling embarassed. She offered the girl her hand as if it was a business meeting. What am I doing? This is really stupid. Lena doesn't want to know about how many friends I've had! she thought to herself.

Lena automatically took the other girl's hand to shake...it came second nature, she supposed, as she was always shaking hands with friends of the family whenever they came over to visit.

"Suki?! N-now why couldn't my parents h-have called me that? I envy you already!"

She smiled slightly, yet it soon faltered as the girl explained how she'd never had a friend.

"Well...that's just plain rude! How anyone wouldn't want to be your friend escapes me. You sure you've never had even a tiny friend...siblings, even? You do have siblings, right? Weren't even they your friend, surely?"

Lena stopped, refraining herself from speaking any further. It was only now that she'd realized she'd got a bit too carried away, and that this must be a touchy subject for Suki- it would be in Lena's eyes anyway. She blushed slightly, awkwardly stood there. Why can't I be normal just this once? she thought helplessly to herself.

Is she had to pick just one, she would say that mid-19th century literature was her favorite. It didn't have the complexity of 18th century writing, nor the almost relaxed tone of most 20th century authors. There was a nice medium there, one that she thoroughly enjoyed. She also loved how most works explored the morality of the characters actions, and other philosophical issues. At the moment, she was delving into Dostoevsky's "Crime and Punishment." She was at the point where Porifry is beginning to suspect Raskolnikov of the pawn-brokers murder.

But nearby voices were beginning to distract her.

Groaning in annoyance, Natasha stood up, marking her place with a simple piece of pink paper. She picked up her cane and strode over to where the people were talking. Honestly, talking in a library! Albeit, it is a school library, but nonetheless! She rounded a corner and saw the culprits. She stopped for a moment. Hmm, they must be new, she thought, I haven't seen them before. I'll give them a little bit of a break.

"Pardon me ladies, but would you mind terribly if you kept your voices down just a tad? This is a library after all," she said.

Suki looked a the new girl that walked by. "I'm very sorry to have disturbed you from your reading. My name is Suki Ookami and this is Lena. It seems that we both had gotten lost and found our way into this library."

Suki looked away from them both. First she had spoken to Lena and she had answered. Now another person had come over to them. This is too much at once. Maybe I shouldn't have said anything in the first place. She shook her head. No no...I'll just stay calm.

Lena flushed deep crimson...this certainly wasn't a good start, even for her lack in standards. Standing quietly as she heard Suki apologise and introduce the pair, she felt kind of guilty- it was her fault to begin with, afterall...perhaps if she could just think before talking in such a disgraceful manner.

"I'm also extremely sorry for my behaviour..." she quietly bowed her head.

Suki looked aroun the library for a moment. She noticed that there were chairs at the far end of the room where they could talk quietly without disturbing anyone. Suddenly she took Lena's hand and dragged her over to one of the tables. It wasn't till after she had done it did she realize how rude she was being.

Suki let go of her hand and bowed. "I'm sorry for doing that. I just saw tables and I didn't even ask you if you wanted to come over here. That as rude of me." Suki stood up and looked away from Lena. Why would she forgive me just like that? No one likes being pulled around by some strange person they hardly know.

Lifting her head up, someone gripped her hand, pulling her along. Subconsciously, she found her feet moving to keep up.

"Woaaaaah~!"

Within seconds, she instantly realised the person taking her. What the heck...? was the reaction in her mind at the time.

Finally they had stopped beside a couple of tables and seats. In an instant, Suki had released her hand, and was bowing to her. Before Lena could even open her mouth to reply, Suki was apologizing. Upon hearing her reasoning, and looking at how the girl before her turned away, Lena sighed. She never was one to hold a grudge, after all...

"Suki, it's fine...it was certainly not rude of you at all...the way I introduced myself was even more rude." she was trying her hardest to be quiet for the other girl, and perhaps others in the library at the time, yet was also trying to be heard by Suki.

Suki glanced away from Lena. "I shouldn't have just intorduce us like that if you felt that way." She sat down at one of the tables still feeling bad about dragging her away. "I think we both are just to polite for our own good. I can be unheathly after awhile."

She was trying hard to try and be nice, but as she was saing all of this her cold face was up and running and her voice had a bit of ice in it. It wasn't a good way to try and make friends with another person. Why can't I try and be nice? Why do I always hide behind a face of cold and ice? No one will want to be around me if I'm like this...
